Your faith has probably been shaped throughout the course of your lifetime. If you attended church services with your parents or Sunday school classes with your siblings, you probably gained a lot of insight about a higher power and what represents a healthy manner in which to live and treat others. If you haven't been remaining active in your faith and are troubled by all of the problems that you are faced with in today's society, it is a good time for you to reconnect with God.
Join A Study Circle Or Attend A Prayer Session
Reading the Bible can be uplifting and may remind you of some of the verses that you learned when you were younger, but if you have difficulty deciphering what you are reading, you may want to seek a study circle or a prayer session group that is geared toward people in your community.
A local church will often have information about upcoming events that the public can attend, and usually, anyone is welcome to enroll in a group that is of interest. A study circle or a prayer session will have a facilitator who runs either gathering and who prompts other group members to vocalize their opinions or share personal accounts in which God's comfort aided them when they were facing adversity.
Remind Yourself As Needed And Appreciate The Positives
If you strongly believe in heaven and are certain that you will see your loved ones who have recently passed, remind yourself of God's promise about the afterlife and use this as your main focus when you are feeling sad or as if everything is hopeless. Things have a way of working themselves out, and when a problem is encountered, it can be difficult to see your way through an adverse situation.
If you seek comfort in God, pray daily, and live an honest life, your mood may be lifted and you may be able to think rationally and clearly. Instead of feeling burdened by all of the negative activity that you have been witnessing or reading about, think about the things that you can be appreciative of.
If you have your health, your job, your home, and your family's support, you are very fortunate and can be grateful for all of these things. Keep a list of positive affirmations or things that you can be thankful for and refer to it when you are struggling with negative feelings.
