Understanding Business Concerns

After I started focusing more on business, it became very obvious to me that I needed to go through and focus on understanding business concerns. I started paying attention to the kinds of concerns that people dealt with on a daily basis in business, and collecting articles that would help people to resolve their challenges. It hasn't been easy to create a massive website filled with great information for business owners, but after a lot of trial and error I am finally finished with the blog. Check out this website for great tips and tricks on business and how to identify and resolve problems.

Purchasing An Older Home? 3 Problems You Could Have With The Doors

If you are purchasing an older home, there are many things you need to check before you move in. One thing you should check is all the doors in the home to ensure they are working properly. Below are three problems you may find with them to help you get started with this.

Door Binds in Upper Corner

Because doors are heavy, over time they can pull down at an angle from the corner that is not hinged. If this happens, the door will be harder to close. Fortunately, this is not difficult to fix, and you may be able to do it on your own. There are screws that holds the hinge to the door jamb, and these screws can wear down over time. Remove one screw at a time, and replace them with new ones. Make sure the new screws are the same length as the old ones. Tighten the screws using a screwdriver, and the door should now open and close smoothly.

Door Hits Wall

If you open the door and it hits the wall, this will cause a lot of damage over time, and there may already be damage on the wall. To fix this problem, you should install a door stop. There are different types of door stops available to you. A common type used has a flexible stop that has a rubber cap on one end and a screw on the other end. Simply screw the door stop into the door or the baseboard.

Another type of door stop is a hinge stop. If you choose this, you disconnect the top hinge pin, slip the door stop through the hinge stop, and then put the hinge back in place.

Another type of door stop attaches to the floor. This is the strongest type of door stop, but because it attaches to the floor, it may get in your way, such as when you are vacuuming or sweeping.

Door Does Not Close All the Way

If you close the door and it will not close all the way or if you have to forcefully push it to get it to close, look at the door frame, as it may be cracked or split. The problem could also be with broken hinges. Check both hinges to ensure they look like they are in good condition and that the screws are tight. The frame itself may be worn down, especially since the frame is old.

If you continue to have problems with your doors, contact a residential door service company, like Advanced Door Service, to help you repair or replace them.
